When you submit a quote request we collect the details you provide: your name, phone number, postcode, address (optional), the service you need and any job notes. We also record your IP address and browser user-agent for security and fraud prevention.

Why we use it and our lawful basis

We use your details for one core purpose: to match you with vetted local fencing installers who can provide a quote for your job. Our lawful basis is your consent (given when you submit the form) and our legitimate interest in operating a quote-matching service.

Who we share it with

We share your quote request with one or more independent fencing installers in our network who cover your area, so they can contact you with a quote. We do not sell your data for unrelated marketing. Installers are expected to use your details only to quote and carry out your job.

How long we keep it

We retain quote requests for as long as needed to provide and improve the service and to meet legal obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@betterfences.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
